Hey guys, I've been having really busy weeks since October started. I do have a couple of posts from my birthday weekend but I thought I'd put up a quick update on how this weekend went.
Okay so after my class ended on Thursday at 10.30am, I left to KLCC for a Taiwan Expo. I helped out here and there but that isn't the event I'm referring to. Right after Taiwan Expo, my boss, colleague and I walked over to Robinsons at Four Seasons KL to prepare for their grand launch. This event was a big one and it was my first introduction to the fashion/lifestyle industry through my PR job.

My job for the entire night was to shadow a photographer and jot down the names of the guest and the number of the photo from the camera. God was that tiring. I realised that I didn't know a lot of big shots in the industry. Well I have heard of these people but I could hardly recognise them in person. For example, I saw Joe Flizzow in person and was just trying to figure out who he was and why he looked so familiar only to realise a day after that it was him.
My favourite part of the event was the Speakeasy Bar (of course!) that opened at 9.30pm. We had a free flow of drinks that were really strong compared to what I get at bars. Tunku Nadia was the DJ for the night and it was lit. Met this fashion photographer, TTFGA that let me cut his queue to get my first drink. Saw Samantha Katie James, Alia Bastamam, Hunny Madu and a million other industry-prominent people. It was pretty cool. I also got a goodie bag which had a couple of discount vouchers, a jewellery box, a moleskin notebook and a card holder by Louis Quatorze.
TBH it was a super long day and weekend for me. Robinsons' launch was such a great eye opener to what the entire industry is and how it works. I would for sure love to do this again.
PS, yesterday I had an event at Watson's #getactivefest from 5am to 10pm. I was up from 3.50am right up till almost 2am last night. I think this is the longest time I've spent awake with no rest whatsoever. CAN DIE but again, work commitments and experience.
I spent my entire weekend sleeping over at my boss' place. It really showed me how hard she works and how much she loves what she does to do this everyday. It's physically and mentally exhausting but her passion keeps her going. Truly an inspiration to me and someone I look up to. She deserves all the opportunity she gets because she really does work hard for it. Imagine running 2 companies as though one doesn't kill enough.
That's all for now, I have work to do.
xx, Farm
