How I manage my $$$

Okay let me get things straight first, I SUCK AT THIS, but I do try my best at it.

First, I always write down my account balances and cash in hand at the beginning of the week just to have a rough idea of what I have to work with. Then I like to keep track of my everyday spendings by writing it down in my planner - So that I know if I'm overspending (which I most likely am) or not. So if today I spent RM1.50 on Nasi Lemak, then it will be written in my planner.
On a monthly basis, I like to pay my bills and subscriptions as soon as I receive my pay from my jobs. I do this so that I get the important things out of the way. The things that I actually NEED to pay for. After that, I put money aside for savings, for trips, for food and living expenses, then whatever is left is for my wants.
I find that this structure works for me. Maybe it'll work for you too.
I'm planning to up my saving game by making a list of my needs vs my wants so that I can physically see them side by side and determine if my wants are necessary or not. Not too sure if you get me or not but I have an issue with impulse buying sometimes :( Sometimes more often than I should. I can really stretch my money and make it last a long time, but I can also spend all of it in a blink of an eye, ya feel me?
Anyways, watch this space for updates on my spending habits and new ideas on how to manage my money better.
