Sem 5, Week 1 - So Unexpected!

I slept over at godma's place the night before because she missed me haha. Woke up at about 9am and did some work over breakfast. Godma made me a hot cup of milo and some tuna with bread. I didn't have class today so I pretty much just chilled the entire day apart from work. Had home cooked Chicken Rendang for lunch (Yum!) and I watched TV with godma after till evening. After dinner, I went back to my rented studio, had my bath, cleared the fridge, wiped the table tops, set my alarm to 7.15am for the next morning and talked to Meara (check out her blog here) till about 1am and went to bed after.

My first class started at 8.30am. My lecturer came in late, not surprised, to a class full of students, in fact, over-crowded as most of the students misunderstood that there were 3 different sessions to attend. Anyway, I had 2 classes and both lasted about an hour instead of 2/3 hours because it was a quick subject briefing and that's all. In between my classes, I sent out some work emails, wrote an article on automated emails and had KFC's Zinger Burger for lunch. I promise I'll be healthy soon. Not yet, but soon. So I got home at about 6pm and I continued with my work. Decided to go downstairs and buy a Shawarma for RM5 - the convenience store in my block has the best Shawarma with the nicest cook!. Had a Skype sesh with Vinnie dungu and Harrish till about 1am and I went to bed after.

Woke up at 7.15am again because I was supposed to have an 8.30am class but guess what. My lecturer didn't even show up and my dean couldn't contact her. I was supposed to have 2 classes with her, one at 8.30am and the other at 2.30pm, both a 3 hour class each. Once I found out that class was cancelled, It was about 10.50am and the bus I wanted to take was at 11.30am. So I decided to go get myself some groceries and attempt cooking for the first time that isn't pasta :)

I went to Cold Storage in the mall next to my uni and I bought a 2kg pack of brown rice, picked up a broccoli, a pack of sausages and a small sack of garlic. I was contemplating on whether I should get myself chicken or not but I was on a rush so I didn't. Maybe sometime next week. Anyway, I caught the 11.30am bus and got home. I prepped the stuff I wanted to cook with, cooked a cup of rice (which turned out not fully cooked like it's supposed to be so I googled and had to add 1/4 cup of water and re-cook it again - I'm learning) and tadaaaa, lunch was made.

Honestly, I'm fully aware that it's a super basic and simple thing to 'cook' but I'm really proud of myself for not being lazy this time. It took a lot of motivation from myself to actually come about getting rice and groceries to do this. I hope to cook more often this semester. After much nagging from Kyle asking me to learn how to cook. I'll prolly take some time to get used to it but there's no harm trying!

It's Bum's birthday today! I woke up at 8am as usual, I had no classes today. My day was supposed to go something like this. I'd go to work at about 10.30am and be home around dinner. Which I did do but at about 5pm, at work, Visarn texted me asking if he could crash at my place till the weekend cause he was coming from Terengganu. And I agreed hahah, yolo! He got here at about 12am, video called Kyle and Emmanuel. Downloaded Apple's new OS Mojave with the night mode and all. Pretty cool. Then we slept at about 2 or 3am.

Woke up to Visarn talking to Brens with his new cat (SO CUTE!) Sent out some emails for work. Then a while later, Jake called Visarn and we had a chat too. Susaan cooked fried rice for lunch and the both of us took the 2pm bus to class and left Visarn at home. Managed to get my lecturer to change my timetable from a Friday afternoon's class to a Thursday morning class. My weekend literally starts after 10.30am on Thursday and it ends on Monday as I only have class on Tuesday morning. So when we got back after class, the initial plan was to eat dinner then chill with Visarn's cousin. We didn't really have plans.

BUT GUESS WHAT!

Visarn's cousin ppk-ed and so I texted Justin, which I don't remember the last time I spoke to him and spontaneously planned a meet-up at One City, Subang. We got there at about 9.30pm, had some Starbucks while waiting for Justin then we went to this restaurant so that he could eat. After dinner we decided to go drinking at Uncle Don's and we ordered 10 mugs. This was my first time drinking in KL! Was texting Meara and then she said she wanted to drink too, so I said come. I'm surprised that this b was down for it and we booked a grab for her and got her to Uncle Don's. It was a really really good time!

At 1am, Colourpop finally released their Disney x Colourpop collection but guess what, a bunch of things were sold out within 5 mins! I managed to get everything I needed except for the Lux Lipstick in shade Tiana and a gold highlight :( Mind you, it sold out at 1.04am. I wasn't even late.

We left Uncle Don's at about 2am and we all decided to sleepover at my place. So random and so uncalled for that I'm still shook that these people actually agreed to sleep over. This is the most fun I've had in KL this year. Super pumped for my birthday weekend!
